For over 35 years a battle has been fought in the neighborhood of Palo Alto in Mexico City. Leading the way are the women who decided to fight against speculators, politicians and even their husbands to build their houses. They managed to do even more, they were able to build community. Thanks to them the Palo Alto Cooperative keeps on building a new horizon.
A selection of portraits of the women in the Palo Alto community are currently exhibited in the Mexican Pavillion in the 15th International Exhibition in Venice 2016: Reporting from the Front. For more information: www.liviaradwanski.com.
